The initial consultations allows extra time to have an in depth discussion on all heath concerns and get the full patient health history.  Please allow around 70 minutes, although it varies slightly from client to client.
Occasionally patients will say that their problem has resolved after only one treatment, however without an ongoing plan of care, it is likely that the complaint will reappear.  
Your practitioner should be able to give you a recommended course of treatment on the initial consultation, depending on the nature of your condition, whether it is acute or chronic we may recommend weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits.  
At Root & Branch we would prefer to see your health condition resolved in an efficient time frame so that we can make time to help others!  
Preventative care and general wellbeing is a important concept in Chinese Medicine and a popular option for many clients who visit for a regular 'tune-up' on a 4-6 week rotation.
If you choose to take herbs in addition to acupuncture we have powdered granules and liquid extracts, both have specific benefits and your practitioner will be able to discuss the best options for you both budget wise and therapeutically.  Herbs are an additional cost to the consultation.

Initial Consultation~Acupuncture & Herbal Prescriptions

Also known as Facial Rejuvenation, it is a safe, gentle and natural anti-aging practise

Cosmetic Acupuncture Initial Appointment

We recommend you the full 1.5 hrs Japanese Shiatsu treatment, so that you can enjoy the whole body experience.

Shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese, in practice a practitioner uses touch, comfortable pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body’s physical structure and balance its energy flow. 

Performed fully clothed on a mat at floor level.  It is performed fully clothed on a mat at floor level. It works on the whole person – not just with the physical body, but also with the psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of being.

It is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and well-being.

*For Shiatsu treatment : please bring/wear loose & comfortable clothing.

1.5 hrs - Japanese Shiatsu Treatment

Esoteric Acupuncture is a modern discipline developed by an American Acupuncturist - Dr Mikio Sankey PH. D, which infuses ancient knowledge from sacred geometry with spiritual wellbeing, meditation, building an antahkarana and expanding consciousness.  ‘Ultra-light’ Japanese style needles are very delicately inserted at specific ‘spin points’ to act as antennas for the encoding patterns to enhance spiritual awareness; the practitioner typically uses a pendulum to decide the indicated balancing pattern. For clients who prefer not to use needles, a tuning fork can be substituted for needles by request with equally good treatment outcomes.  Blocked chakras, emotional issues, relationship difficulties and expanding consciousness to aid your advanced meditation or yoga practise are often reasons people seek out this specialised area of care.

Esoteric Acupuncture

Dry needling may provide relief for some muscular pain and stiffness.  In addition, working with trigger points and motor points improves flexibility and increases range of motion often. This the of needling is often used for sports injuries, muscle pain and even fibromyalgia.

Musculoskeletal Acupuncture & Dry Needling

Three treatments within 14 days including your first appointment (which is a bit longer due to the initial interview.)

All three treatments must be utilised within fourteen days of your initial consultation & treatment.  The initial 3 treatments may not constitute a full course of treatment, treatment plans vary from person to person and condition to condition, treatment plans can only be confirmed after the initial consultation.

WHY DO 3 WITIN 14 DAYS? 

We have found anecdotally that treating most conditions respond better with multiple treatments within a set time frame, 3 times may not be the magic number, however most people will know by the 2nd or 3rd treatment whether Chinese Medicine is a good match for their condition.
